01 · Choose a safe destination
Use a location with adequate free space separate from the working dataset where possible.
02 · Create a backup
Wait for the backup to finish and keep the resulting manifest or archive intact.
03 · Test restore
Restore a copy to a new location and verify that datasets, annotations, and reports appear.
04 · Keep source imagery
The backup scope can differ from the raw source folder; keep original photographs separately.
